SikshaVid ("we", "our", "us") operates the SikshaVid online learning platform for CGPSC, CG SSC, SSC, Railway and Banking exam preparation. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website or services, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide: When you create an account we collect your name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number and password. When you purchase a course we collect billing details necessary to process the payment. If you contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence.
Information collected automatically: As you use the platform we record your course enrollments, lesson completion, quiz attempts and scores so we can show your progress and improve our recommendations. We also collect standard technical data such as device type, browser and approximate location derived from your IP address.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and manage your account, deliver courses and track your learning progress, process payments, respond to your questions and doubts (including via WhatsApp if you opt to use our doubt support), send you important service updates such as batch announcements and test schedules, and improve our content and platform. With your consent, we may also send promotional messages about new batches and offers; you can opt out at any time.
3. Payment Information
Payments are processed by secure third-party payment gateways. We do not store your full card numbers, UPI PINs or banking passwords on our servers. The payment gateway's own privacy policy applies to data you provide during checkout.
4. How We Store and Protect Data
Your data is stored with our backend service provider (Supabase) using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to student data is restricted through row-level security so that each student can only access their own records. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, payments, communication tools), when required by law or a government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of SikshaVid and its users.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference (English/Hindi) and understand how the platform is used. You can clear these through your browser settings, though some features may stop working.
7. Your Rights
You may access and update your profile information from your account. You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated personal data by writing to us at contact@sikshavid.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to any records we are legally required to retain (for example, payment records).
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for users preparing for competitive examinations, who are generally 17 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest revision. Significant changes will be announced on the platform.
